Drama Review: Love and Redemption

Love and Redemption: I did binge watched this earlier in Feb of 2021 but it came out a year ago.

Story: 4/5

Although this story roughly resembles elements from (75%) Ashes of Love and Ten Miles Of Peach Blossoms (25%) they added some other different feel from this story. This drama is just another for older generations who watched multiple dramas (like me) but good drama for those who are in the audience who aren't really familiar with Xianian and Wuxia dramas.

In this drama although I did enjoy I could predict some unfortunate events that had me thinking if I should continue on but I ended up watching it towards the end because I was hunger for Chinese Drama.

The first drama I could recall to watch was Treasure Venture with Nicky Wu and Vicki Zhao so yes I'm an OG. I liked the fact that they used a Female for God of War (gow) instead of  a Male because in Ashes of Love XuFeng was the GOW and Moyuan was another GOW.

Immortal/Demon Arc (Past): I really liked this story of the past of revolving all of the characters and wished for us to see more than just flashbacks. The way how King Bailing created God of War and their friendship that turned sour.

Flower Festival Arc: I think I loved this arc the most because it brought us into their teenage years and how they all became friends with each other. Sifeng's stuttering personality was cute and Xuanji was always teasing him which was cute.

5 Years Later/Misunderstanding Arc:

I really hated the misunderstanding arc (that's what I would like to call it) whole thing because it's been five freakin years and yet Xuanji still be acting like Sifeng being the big murder. This Arc was one of the most worse feeling I had and most memorable happy days for Sifeng and Xuanji. I really liked Sifeng's whole story and how it really connected to Xuanji in many ways. There was no loopholes for his story. I think they should of worked more on SiFeng's immortal story it wont hurt to do a 2-5 episode run.

Casting 5/5 & Character Development: 5/5

I really think all of the characters were well chosen and their chemistry were right on spot. I do not need to say anything more other than Chenyi who plays Sifeng, his acting is too excellent and well. I deserved so much for this drama because it was what I had to keep watching this is because of how well he played Sifeng.

I really didn't know that Mickey He will be playing Sifeng's father. I really love Mickey He because I knew him way back from watchin him play the Villain in The Four starring Hans Zhang, William Chan, Yang Yang, and Jainie Chang. I also love his voice that was used for this OST.

Linglong and Minyuan their story was great from the beginning but then it became unwatchable because of Linglong's trauma that was given to her by Wu Tong.

Music: 3/5

I really didn't really  remember much about the osts but only two songs that I could remember now. I like the theme song, but sometimes it makes me cringe when I can already know when it's playing every single time when Xuanji's inner immortal self released her powers. Mickey He, His song was probably the most memorable one in my opinion.

Episode/Rewatch Value: 4/5

I will and can rewatch this drama again, but not by myself (because it is too long for a rerun) but with my family members I am currently watching it with my sister when we have time. The episodes were great just that it was not enough for the whole story in my opinion.

Total & Final Review: 4.2/5 (8.4/10)

Other than that sit back and enjoy drama watching.
