Drama Review: You Are My Hero

Emergency Certification/Training Arc: The story starts out as male lead and female lead met each other before hand and then two years later they meet again. Her Uncle Swat that saved her life is her big crush which is just male lead. During this arc it was fun to watch and how the two leads meet each other getting at each other’s throats. Male lead already started to like her which is interesting instead of the other way around where the Female has a crush on him first. I really liked Male lead’s moral and principles as a Captain of the SWAT team. 

Earthquake Arc: I think this is the best arc in this series. What I appreciate about this is the production team putting an effort of connecting the two leads’ professional career together. An example is when ML had to take care of other villagers and FL stayed behind to do their job. He saluted to her and she looked at him. We can really see their worry and love for each other through their body language and their emotions through their eyes. They didn’t need any individual dialogue to tell the audience all of that. This scene what really touched me is when he wasn’t planning to tell her that he was the one that saved her years ago, “I didn’t want you to like me because of being grateful that I’ve saved your life, but to like who I am in front of you.” This was very sweet and the way how they scripted it. Then they had the weird awkwardness which was making me *Fan girl*

Relationship Arc: This Arc was a little bit longer than what I had anticipated. A little bit draggy since I came back to watch this after episode 21. Their relationship is very mature and very reasonable. An example is when the two sisters came to look for ML and tried to cause drama between them. This arc the reason why I named it Relationship Arc is because their is Xiao Xia and Shen Wenbo and DR. Sham and Xing Keyao’s mending status. It wasn’t too bad to watch but it was enjoyable.

Cast: 5/5 & Character Development: 5/5

This is a perfect cast that they casted. I had no disappointment with anyone’s acting. I really loved the two main lead’s chemistry.

MiKa & Xing Kelei: Their on screen chemistry really makes you understand real life relationship. What happens in reality and how they try to cope with everything. Xing Kelei is the smart one pursing MiKa while she’s the one who’s bumped out about love. he doesn’t over do it but then realizes that he needs to step up his game after the new female character joined the swat team and they invited her to eat with all of the members. The embarrassment she felt was very well played out by the screen writer. Mi Ka on the other hand is a very innocent soul and she is very straight forward with what she wants. I like her personality.

XiaoXia & Wen Bo: Xiao Xia pursued Wenbo twice and got rejected. She then got picked right after Wenbo got a punch in the face to face is feelings: He’s in love with her at the same time one of his pals like her. So what he chooses over that situation is letting her go but at the same time still worries for her. Although Shenbo is a block head he’s one of my favorite characters. Xiao Xia’s character and actress reminds me of Rainie Yang back when she was in her younger days.

Dr. Shao & Ke Yao: I really liked these two older mature couples. They’re trying to and not find their way back to their old relationship. At first I disliked Dr. Shao, he seemed to be mean and weird. I kind of thought that he had a thing for Mi Ka. But thank god he didn’t. This relationship was very romantic in a good way because they’re not kids no more, so they are able to straight forwardlly talk about their past. Although there were awkward times towards each other, they try to play out cool as best as they could.

Mika's Friend Circle: Although she didn’t have a lot of friends outside but she had friends/coworkers who supported her which was nice. her college friend (I forget her name) was messed up and really did Mi Ka wrong. But at the end I’m glad that the production/script writer was able to find a solution for her character.

Xing Kelei's Friend Circle: I’d say I like his SWAT members the best because they’re just so cute and full of bromance. I always enjoy their screen time at the base.

Music: 3/5

I really don't remember any of the songs that got my attention. I just remember the opening theme and also one of the slow ballad ones  Sorry this Drama didn’t have any memorable and good songs for me to look back on.

Episodes/Rewatch Value: 5/5

I usually don't rewatch modern dramas unless I really like them. I will probably watch this drama again once in a long long time. I still love the two main leads and will follow Bai Jingting.
